The well-noted and known fact about Nepal is Nepal is the home of high mountains. Having high mountains, Nepal provides an opportunity for peak climbing with a number of the peak of your choice. Basically, Peak climbing in Nepal was popularized by Sir Edmund Hillary, and tensing Norgay Sherpa successfully climbed Mount Everest in 1953. Since then, adventure and thrill-seekers visit Nepal for climbing. Not only Mount Everest but other numbers of the peak are climbed by climbers from all around the globe.
Approximately 51 mountains of height above 6000 meters are located in Nepal. The world has a total of 14 mountains of height above 8000 meters and among them, 8 are situated in Nepal: Mt. Everest (8,848m. the highest peak in the world), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516m), Mt. Makalu (8, 463m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m.), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m.), Mt. Manaslu (8,163m.) and Mt. Annapurna (8, 091m). In addition, approximately, 22 mountains of height 7000 meters – 8000 meters and 23 mountains of height 6000 meters – 7000 meters are in Nepal.
With long experience, knowledge, and cooperation, Nepal Adventure Team organizes peak climbing for enthusiastic climbers. However, the climbers need to inform Nepal Adventure Team in advance because we have to complete the administrative process from the concerned authorities. The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation and the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has the authority to permit those willing to have peak climbing in Nepal. Permits for NMA peaks (as listed by NMA ) are provided by NMA and climbing other peaks permit is obtained from related authority. The charge for peak climbing depends on the number of members in a group and the height of the peaks you want to climb as well as the adventurous sport you want to organize in the mountain areas.
